Rain or Shine superstar James Yap said he is constantly checking on PBA updates from where he is with his family in Milano Marittima, Italy, particularly on the league’s plan to return next month starting with practice sessions for the 10 ballclubs.

Yap added he has followed PBA commissioner Willie Marcial’s dialogue with league governors last week at the PBA office in Libis, Quezon City regarding health protocols that will be enforced once the Inter-Agency Task Force gives the green light to resume practice.

Yap said he would return to the country as soon as a decision is reached and finalized on the league’s return.

Meanwhile, Yap described the birthday celebration they had for their young daughter as “simple and memorable.”

“Simple lang naman, kami lang family, kasama siyempre parents ni Mic,” Yap said in a continuing social media exchange with Manila Bulletin.

Francesca Michelle, daughter of the former PBA two-time Most Valuable Player and fiancé Michela, turned two last June 27. The couple’s son Michael James will turn four on August 8.

Yap and his family arrived in this town in the province of Ravenna, approximately a three-hour drive from the capital Rome, last June 1 because of “family matters”, which he said had since been resolved.

Yap, one of the most popular players in the pro league and an integral member of the Elasto Painters, said his Michela took care of the design in the house, which completed the ‘party mood’ their kids loved.

Asked what gift they gave their daughter, Yap said that one has to wait.
